Greer Family Retreat

We loved this beautiful home in Greer and did not want to leave! We spent most of the time on the amazing deck and going for walks into town. Lovely, clean home with everything you need!

Fun and peaceful getaway for the family. tons of wildlife and if you enjoy fishing there we're 2 tiny blue gill in the pond on our trip and tons of crayfish or crawdads as some say. so that alone can keep the family entertained for hours.

We will definitely be back! This was such a gem in the heart of Greer. Jon was absolutely incredible and responsive at every turn of the trip. We came upon zero issues and had a splendid time. The kids play area was a wonderful addition to the property and the acre gave so much space for my children to run wild and free. The cabin was so cozy and we are eager to return. Thanks Jon for opening your cabin to our family. Highly recommend!!

What a fabulous host!!!!!! We had a small hiccup, my misunderstanding & all handled perfectly! Beautiful property, tons of privacy, comfortable homes, yes we were able to stay in two separate places which was fantastic for the kids and us parents too :) HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! We will definitely be renters again, thanks Jon!!

This was a great stay for our group of 8. It was beautiful, just like the photos! The space was perfect for us and very clean. It was a wonderful place and we felt right at home. We enjoyed walking from there and grilling on the back porch. Jon was very responsive, which we appreciated. We very much look forward to making this our stay next time we are in town.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Happy Bear. Boys loved the pond even though it was mostly frozen. House was comfortable upstairs and downstairs, heat was easy to work and kept the place toasty. Location felt private and the scenery was beautiful. Thanks!

Jon was a great host. super responsive and flexible with our special requests. Grest location. We were able to walk to dinner and coffee since not much is open past 3pm. Kitchen had everything we need in terms of cookware and cutlery to make every planned meall. We will definitely recommend this one to others!

This is a magical house for families because of the pond. It will draw your children away from their screens and outside. We were there in the winter and the kids still spent time outside. Make sure to bring pellets AND lighter fluid for pellet stove. Very hard to light without help of the lighter fluid. House takes an hour to warm up on first arrival. Dress warm. But once it’s warm, it is very warm and stays that way

My family and I had the most amazing time over Christmas. We could not have asked for a better host. We had family travel from Kansas and all accommodations were made from linens to towels to bathroom items. We could not have asked for a better clean safe and picturesque stay. We’re looking forward to our next adventure at the Greer family retreat.

My family and I absolutely loved our stay at Jon’s Happy Bear Lodge. The home and surrounding area was gorgeous. We got snowed in for a day but we didn’t mind because the home was warm and cozy with plenty of games and movies available to us. Jon was also very responsive and even jumped on a call with me because i needed help working the pellet stove. I will definitely be booking a cabin with Jon again in the future!
